Introduction

CNVA is the voice of local voluntary and community sector groups working within the Borough of Crewe and Nantwich. There are over 160 members -   local community groups and voluntary organisations which provide services, regenerate neighbourhoods, increase volunteering and tackle discrimination, in partnership with local public bodies.
Our purpose is to promote local voluntary and community action. We do this by providing our members with information, advice, networking and learning opportunities, and support and development services. In turn, we draw on our members' experience to influence local government and contribute to local and national policy.
CNVA’s work is guided by the values of equality of opportunity, participation, co-operation and democratic involvement. In supporting the voluntary and community sector we help to combat poverty, disadvantage and discrimination, and improve the quality of life for communities, groups and individuals.
Until the Annual General Meeting, held on the 11th of October 2006, CNVA was called Crewe and Nantwich Council for Voluntary Service and Volunteer Bureau.

Trustees

Crewe and Nantwich Voluntary Action are working to help local community and voluntary groups throughout the Borough, with funding, support, advice, networking, strategic planning, and volunteer recruitment and management.

Crewe and Nantwich Voluntary Action has a trustee board which is made up of people from local voluntary and community groups.  As an organisation, we face change and we need the support of individuals who are committed to the ongoing development of their community and are keen to take ownership.

We would like to enhance our board of trustees to help us face the inevitable changes ahead with the introduction of the new East Cheshire Unitary Authority in April 2009.

Please consider joining our board of trustees.  Should you require further information or would just like a chat to see if you can offer the skills required,  please call: Wendy Gjerstad on 01270 211545, or e-mail wendy.crewecvs@btconnect
